    I was a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Evelyn Infurna. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.

    On luxury retail estate, I've been looking at Watches of Switzerland Group, one of top two largest and oldest retailers of Rolex (50% of revenue) and other top watch brands. Your comment on luxury retail estate was good to think about. Rolex has to give approval to any new store which WOSG wants to open up. On the other side, WOSG are one of only a few retailer partners of Rolex which has enough scale to then be able to afford these luxury locations. A great interview. One point I've just spent some time thinking about, it's a bit harsh saying if all new investors who invested in Nvidia just got lucky. It really depends on how much research they did. Stan Druckenmiller brought Nvidia after GPT-3 came out and held most of his stake through to Q1 2024, and he's a great investor. Nvidia's P/E hasn't actually changed from Jan 2023 average, so it can't be said that investor's got lucky on the valuation multiple going crazy either. Of course if an investor didn't do much research, and believes they can replicate 100s of percentage point returns each year, then yes, that can't be replicated. But if they realized the short-term demand for their A.I chips, brought as part of their portfolio and then it went up multiples, then it's at least a combination of smart and lucky.

    "You don't have any people who didn't take the vaccine who had an adverse reaction, cause they're all fucking dead"??? That has to be one of the stupidest, most elitely ignorant, lies I've ever heard. Case in point. I did NOT take the vaccine. I did eventually get COVID (two years in), and I'm fine. NOT DEAD! I don't think Guy Spier is in ANY WAY qualified to make these sort of statements on medical issues. I can tell you this. If you don't take the vax, you don't have to worry about dying from the side effects! What an imbecile. Even now he says this. When there is now proof positive the mRNA jab is harmful. Guess it's like Forest Gump said "stupid is as stupid does". And to think I found this guy, due to his association to Mohnish Pabrai, and thought he might be a sharp guy. Boy was I wrong. I agree with a lot, but staying completely out of the magnificent seven just because they are the biggest and most talked about is not necessarily the best approach either. Just look at how cheap Meta got in 2022. It's funny because one would think that the largest companies in the world would be efficiently priced, but it is clearly not the case. There is value to be found in both small and large companies i think. The good thing about being an individual investor is that you can move freely, you're not limited to either small or big companies.

    • @Kornheiser10
      @Kornheiser10 15 дней назад

      I agree in general, but I think there is so much hype on the Mag 7 that they are priced from the hype. As Buffett processes, “In the short run, the market is a voting machine but in the long run it is a weighing machine.”
